Environmental Problem Plastic pollution 2
Do you know what's this? Yes, these are trash bags. Trash bags in an autopsy lab. What is happening here?
This image was taken from CBS news.com. These trash bags were found inside the dead pilot whale, Thailand. The autopsy revealed that there were 17 plastic bags and other rubbish in the stomach. When people found the whale, it was struggling, but still alive. The veterinarians helped the whale to spill a few plastics, but soon the whale died. How sad is this? What we have done?
The thing is, for the sea animals, it's not easy to differentiate between plastic waste and their food like fishes, or jellyfish. I was at the beach with my family this summer. I was standing in the shallow side of the ocean, and tried to catch the garbages that come and go with the wave. There were some big wastes like a plastic bottle, or a grocery bag, a ziplock bag, etc. But mostly, the wastes which I found in the ocean were small pieces, perhaps smaller than 5 x5 inches. Sometimes, I picked alive jellyfish by mistake. Even I couldn't tell if it's a jellyfish or a piece of plastic.

You can find many animals killed by plastic wastes like this.
Where these plastics are from?
Maybe this?
To be continued.
